What does it mean to cycle? How is a cycle different from a pattern? These and other questions will be answered during our unit on cycles. Cycles is an interdisciplinary study of many different things that cycle within our world and our universe. As part of this study, students will be looking at solar and lunar cycles, animal cycles such as the life cycle of the monarch butterfly and the migratory cycles of whales, birds and other animals. We will also study natural cycles such as the water cycle. We will look at man’s involvement in cycling through the impact of conservation and recycling. This unit will focus strongly on inquiry and research skills.
