I grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota, which is where much of my family still lives. I attended Crown College, just outside of Minneapolis where I received my degree in Elementary Education. After college I moved to Austin, Texas, because I hated winter, hated snow and wanted to go someplace warm! I lived in Texas for seven years. During this time I taught third grade and pursued my Master’s Degree in Gifted Education with a minor in Curriculum. After receiving my degree, family circumstances drew me back to Minnesota. I began teaching in a suburb of Minneapolis called St. Louis Park. This was a small school district, but had great students! In my position as Gifted Specialist, I worked with elementary students in an interdisciplinary thematic pullout program.
In 2007 my husband changed jobs and we relocated to Orlando, Florida. Although Florida is not where we had planned to live, we love the winters here and now proudly call it home. I taught at Moss Park Elementary School for two years as a gifted specialist before the birth of my son. After taking off several years to spend time with him, now that he is in school, I am delighted to be back to teaching gifted. I love being with students and have a passion for helping them to be their best! In my spare time, I enjoy scrapbooking, playing games, and spending time with my son.
